The Private Forest District Brețcu was established based on Article 15 of Law 46/2008 – the Forestry Code, and it was registered in the National Registry of Forest Administrators and Forest Districts at position 76, through a court decision dated 02.07.2009. The legal framework for its operations also includes Government Ordinance no. 26/2000 regarding associations and foundations. According to the Articles of Incorporation and Statutes, the role and purpose of the Private Forest District Brețcu are to ensure the management of privately-owned forests and meadows and support environmental protection activities. The General Assembly serves as the governing body.
The leader of the Private Forest District Brețcu is the custodian of the Natura 2000 Site Oituz-Ojdula ROSCI0130 since 22.02.2010.
The Private Forest District Brețcu employs 28 people, with its main field of activity being forestry and other forest-related activities (planting, forest conservation, raising and maintaining seedlings for afforestation).
