Presentation of project results

in September 2020, 3 meetings were organized regarding the presentation of the results and experiences gained within the project. The three meetings were organized in the localities of Brețcu (September 17), Ojdula (September 17) and Lemnia (September 18).
The following topics were addressed during the meetings:
– Presentation of project results and experiences
– Screening of the 30-minute documentary about the Natura 2000 site Oituz-Ojdula.
– Dissemination of informative materials: photo albums, leaflets

Biodiverzitás menedzsment és biodiverzitás monitorozás kurzus

Az Ojtoz-Ozsdola védett terület kezelési tervének elkészítése című projekt keretén belül július 27-31. között zajlott a Biodiverzitás menedzsment és biodiverzitás monitorozás kurzus. A projektcsapat és a Természetvédelmi Területek Országos Ügynöksége (ANANP) együttműködési szerződése értelmében a kurzuson a Kovászna megyei ANANP 3 tagja vett részt.
A kurzus elméleti és gyakorlati részből tevődött össze, melynek során a a résztvevők aktívan bekapcsolódtak a csoportos gyakorlatokba, vitákba.

Biodiversity management and biodiversity monitoring

Within the Project „Elaboration of the Natura 2000 Oituz-Ojdula Management Plan„ the “Biodiversity management and biodiversity monitoring” course took place between July 27-31. Considering the collaboration protocol between the project team and the National Agency for Protected Natural Areas (ANANP). 3 people from ANANP Covasna Territorial Service participated in this course.
The course consisted of a theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical part, the participants were actively involved, through discussions and debates, and through group exercises.

Meetings organized in connection with the elaboration of the management plan

On the 21th and 22th of November, three meetings were organized in connection with the elaboration of the management plan for the Oituz-Ojdula Natura 2000 area. These meetings were organized in the villages of Breţcu (on the 21th of November), Lemnia (on the 21th of November), and Ojdula (on the 22th of November).

Within these meetings information about the protected area, the purpose of the project, the activities funded by the project, the biotic and abiotic assessments, the procedure for the management plan, and last but not least, the results were presented.

The main purpose of these meetings was to draw stakeholder’s attention to the fact that the protected area’s management plan is already developed, but before it is approved, it is necessary to involve the stakeholders so that this management plan to be viable and usable.

Informative materials were also disseminated during these sessions: flyers, folders, table calendars and pens.

Last guided field trips for schoolchildren took place in the Oituz-Ojdula site

Within the Project „Elaboration of the Natura 2000 Oituz-Ojdula Management Plan”, 4 field trips were organized to the Oituz-Ojdula site for school students during October-November 2019. The essence of the program was to put into practice the theoretical education, so the students had the opportunity to learn about the natural values of the protected area from direct experience in nature.

Ecological education activities in schools around the Oituz-Ojdula site have been completed

Within the Project „Elaboration of the Natura 2000 Oituz-Ojdula Management Plan”, 16 activities of ecological education were organized for preschoolers, pupils from elementary school and V-VIII from Breţcu, Oituz, Mărtănuș, Lemnia, Ojdula and Hilib. The main theme of these activities was the presentation of the natural values of the Oituz-Ojdula site.

Ecological education activities in schools around the Oituz-Ojdula site – October 2019

Within the Project „Elaboration of the Natura 2000 Oituz-Ojdula Management Plan”, have provided education programs for three age groups: preschoolers, schoolchildren from grades I-IV and V-VIII. Between 21-25th october there were activities in Brețcu, Oituz and Mărtănuș. The main theme of these activities was the biodiversity and protection of the Oituz-Ojdula site.

Presentation of the film “Oituz-Ojdula Natura 2000 site”

On the 15th of October, the documentary entitled “The Oituz-Ojdula Natura 2000 protected area was presented to the public in Sfântu Gheorghe. The film was made by Rec-Cont film production, at the request of the Private Forest District Brețcu and the Vinca Minor Association. The film is part of the project: “Elaboration of the management plan of the Ojtoz-Ozsdola Natura 2000 site” (code SMIS2014: 104845). It can be viewed on the following link:

The inventories have been completed

The inventories of the abiotic and biotic environment of the Oituz-Ojdula site have been completed, as part of the project “Elaboration of the Natura 2000 Oituz-Ojdula Management Plan”. Thus, studies have been drafted on the assessment of abiotic environment and land use, inventory of forest habitats, inventory of large carnivorous populations, inventory of bat populations, inventory of amphibian populations and socio-economic aspects. Based on these results, experts will begin to draft the management plan.

Management of Protected Areas course

From 1 to 5 April the Management of Protected Areas course took place at Frumoasa, Hargita county. 3 members of the Private Forest District of Brețcu attended this course.
